Wow those things are expensive!!! I remember the days of getting a TH350 rebuilt for about $300, and that was with them dropping/reinstalling it. My sister had an 82 L-Type supra and in 1987 it cost about $400 to have it rebuilt.
Let me preface this by saying I think your car is perfect the way it is because it's so unique BUT since you have a parts car you can always swap the dash and main body harnesses. It's rather time and labor intensive but can be done.
Let's see some motor shots, more interior too. Super sweet...
In a MotorTrend review of the 1987 Supra Turbo (It's here on the forum somewhere) they stated that they took the top off and barely got a couple miles down the road and put it back on. They didn't like it one bit. Too much flex in the body.
I think it was MotorTrend. I'll see if I can find it.
I haven't had a Targa top yet so I can't really compare. I do like my HT though. I like not having to worry about leaks and where I live the roads are bumpy and I know I would not tolerate the the difference in stabily that so many have spoken of when the top is off. It all boils down to taste...
Thanks for the comments.
The graphics were an option from the dealer I think. There is a sticker in the passenger side door jam that discusses them but it is so faded out I can't see what it says. They didn't come from the factory. My car and Scotts parts car are the only ones I've seen with...
So what's the story with the car? Goals? I like history and future plans. If those pics are two, nearly three, years old, why just now getting started?
