Ahh those were my thoughts exactly.
It is actually the SRS Air Bag Sensor. When I first removed the center console, I had no idea what it is as well. Learn something new everyday with these cars ;)

My PLX-R500 has a pretty neat knock detection set up. It also has a audible headphone jack to listen if any knocking is occurring.

Edit:
Actually, the neat part is that I can hook up headphones and listen. Besides that, I guess it's pretty basic ;)
Update:
Took out the front seats, center console, and dashboard (What a bitch!). I've got to change the heater core, blower, and take care of some wiring for my electronic goodies. I'll also be swapping out the carpet. I've got a mint shadow gray dash going back in since mine was shot. Enjoy...
Wow man, thank you very much for the kind words. That means a lot being that I've seen pictures of Suprahero and Noah's car and they are beautiful.

Beautiful car by the way.

If I didn't get such a great deal on the Do-luck and Kaminari combo, I'd be sporting the stock bumper with a 3 hole bomex lip. Eventually I still may go back to stock, but I thought I might as well use it for now. We'll see how it looks.
Thanks for the compliments.
