I think just swapping the thermostat housing is pretty much all you gotta do. The pre 89 has less. Almost everything on my motor is 89. The block and thermostat housing is 87. My 87 wiring harness has no left over plugs and everything fit.

Thanks guys for the input. It is duely noted. Well yesterday was cold and cloudy so I decided to whip out an aftermarket stereo I had bought months ago and wire it up. I bought a harness adapter for the car. I HATE it when people cut the plugs off the harness. It's so unneccessary. Anyway...
