I like to do the whole treatment (wash, clay bar, detail, polish and wax) twice a year. I try to do it before I park the car for the winter and then I do it again in the spring sometime.

Yes you have to cut them to make it fit. The kit does come with some decent couplers and T-bolt clamps so they should not come off even without the lip.
I have tried iridium's and have found that coppers perform much better on a turbo charged engine. You will have to replace them often but they are much cheaper and superior.
