Yeah it has the angled legs. I have used it 4 or 5 times to pull the engine and tranny and it works fine. I got the combo when they had a deal going and I think it was $179, a great deal. Go check em out and see what specials they have right now. The store I use is close to Champion as well...
For your engine hoist look at Northern tools. I am in Houston and I picked up a 2 ton hoist/engine stand combo for around $200 if I remember right, it's been a while. They have the hoists from just over $100 on up. The cheap one will tip as the legs go straight out, but the slightly more...
Ok I searched, couldn't find it. I am in the middle of my KS rewire.
Is the front sensor #1 and rear #2. Common sense tells me yes but I thought someone here will know for sure.
Need to know so I connect it to the correct ecu wire. If it even matters.
Thanks.
Hmm, I have never personally seen a 4 wire sensor on any supra.
I answered the guys question, and funnily enough about 5 minutes before I did I had just finished replacing my O2 sensor.
I'm not the best at math but I am pretty sure I only soldered 3 wires:biglaugh:
OK, on a serious note I will try to put some pics up next week when I am back from work. Maybe in the build thread. Its in pieces again already as I decided to move my coil packs and use a GTE intake manifold.
For those with turbo dreams for their NA cars, it is worth using GTE electronics. I...
For some reason every time I drive my rear tires just light up and turn to smoke?
All I did was put full GTE electronics and a CT-26, 3in downpipe and catback on my 89 NA:evil2:
Anybody know why this is happening:1zhelp:
ps.
Boost rocks:bowdown:
Getting a GTE pan won't help a bit as it doesn't have a drain in it:nono: Not sure what you mean as the stock GTE oil drain goes in the block.
I put my drain about 2 inches forward of the oil cooler return hole. Weld in a -10AN bung if you can.
Get your feed from the stock oil pressure...
If the engine is out and disassembled put the turbo oil drain bung in the oil pan now. Then cap it off until you turbo it. Much easier than doing it with the oil pan on in the car. Then when you are ready just unbolt the NA manifold etc and put you GTE stuff on, pretty easy.
Airline pilot here, doesn't even feel like a job actually. More like a hobby because I love going to work:biglaugh:
Pays well, not as well as pre 9/11:icon_cry: but still pays the bills and lets me have some toys. Best part of the job is lots of time off to stare at the supra in the garage...
Ok,
I have a code 52, I am suspecting the wiring which I plan to replace, but until then can I set the timing or is the ecu messing with the timing even at idle.
Reason I ask is that I have just installed a new CPS and need to time it. With the diag block jumpered am I good to set timing to...
Just incase someone has this question in the future.....
My problem was a bad CPS. Original CPS read 8-900 ohms on the TSRM test.
Replaced with a CPS that has readings of 3-400 ohms and it gets good spark and runs. TSRM says 140-180 ohms is acceptable but apparently 400 ohms still works well...
Yep, all grounds are in place. Been burned by that one before:biglaugh:
I guess I am down to replacing components one by one starting with the CPS if I can find one.
Thanks for the replies, and if anyone has any firm knowledge on just how high the CPS resistance readings can be and still...
