You've got conflicting info in your question. The fuel pressure regulator is on the return end. The pulsation dampner is on the feed end close to the firewall. Which one are you refering to?

The thing is I've never checked before so I don't have a frame of reference. I upgraded the igniter ground this past weekend and after doing a few other things while she idled I just happend to lay my hand on it and wondered WTF.

Probably a rhetorical question but... Should the igniter get so hot you almost can't touch it? If you leave your hand on it for more than a quick 3 count it becomes quite un-comfortable. Thanks for your input.:icon_bigg

Does the air flow meter's orientation (or sexual preference for that matter) make a difference. In other words does it matter whether it is horizontal or vertical? Or if it stays horizontal does it matter how it's clocked (sensor on top, side or bottom)? And if it does matter what would the...
Thanks JJ,
I was just responding to suprabad's tip when you posted up. Yup I'll check voltage tonight. Just ran out of time last night chasing my tail. I don't have a 41 so we're good.
Thanks again for your help gentlemen.

Thanks for the tip, beer engaged. But I don't think I was really having trouble adjusting the tps, my problem was more in confirming the tps was/was not working properly. I will be rechecking it again tonight and I'll chk voltage as well.
Thanks again.

Have you tried adjusting the AFPR? I don't believe they come setup in the box. Did you get a gauge with it? Try turning on the key and jumper the fuel pump test terminals and adjust it.

See, that's what I was thinking. So the fact that I can induce and halt code 51 shows the contacts are closing (enough so to satisfy the ECU anyway) and the wiring is happy.
As for measuring wrong, do you mean the resistance values or when I set the throttle stop to zero clearance or the...
I'm no slouch but it's time to defer to the big boys.
The question:
Is it possible to have a properly adjusted TPS that all resistance measurements are within TSRM spec but on the final check with a 0.50mm feeler gauge I get no continuity and not have a code 51? Would you pass or fail...
He ran it without any belts on it so that can't be it.
Your going to have to pull the lower timing cover and check the crankshaft t-belt pully and t-belt tensioner/idler pulley.
