7MGTE rods in my 7MGE?????

Are both rods the same length? If so, is the piston the only thing that makes the difference in compression ratio? Or is there also a difference with cylinder head volume/design? I'm looking for different rods and I can only find rods for the 7MGTE. Sorry if this is a noob question.

Head, crank, rods, hg, valves/springs are all the same. Block is same but GTE has the oil drain drilled. The difference in compression is from GTE pistons being dished.

Different Oil Pump in the GTE, Later blocks have Squirters, GE's got the "heavy" block earlier than GTE's.
