hello all,
this was gonna go in 7m technical discussion but it got long very quickly.
i am in the process of installing a rebuilt longblock. i bought the engine from another user here. it had been rebuilt with stock internals by a shop in california. i have been told it has around 30 miles on it and was run on an auto tranny. everything else i didnt replace or upgrade was transferred from my other engine after a thorough inspection and cleaning. in the process of removing and reinstalling my engine and tranny, i also...
installed a copper ceramic 6 puck clutch disk w/ a heat treated stock pp,
new toyota throwout and pilot bearings,
resurfaced flywheel,
replaced the motor mounts with solid aluminum mounts,
replaced the transmission mount with an oem mount,
replaced every gasket and seal that i encountered,
retorqued the headbolts to 70 ft lbs,
checked torque specs internally on top and bottom end,
checked torque on cam gears and crank pulley,
replaced nearly every hose i came across,
cleaned everything up,
polished the valve covers,
replaced the carrier bearing with a retrofitted autozone bearing,
replaced no.3 cyl head gasket over the plug galleys with napa gaskets,
sogi shifter mod with dealership bushings,
replaced several groundstraps,
new 75-90w gear gear oil
new bosch platinum plugs gapped to .31
ngk plug wires
removed ac condenser, compressor and lines
other stuff im probably forgetting..
the car is a silver 90 turbo 5 speed. it has the following mods:
eibachs and tems tokikos,
apexi intake,
3" downpipe, 2.5" exhaust (long story) no cats to n1 muffler,
ebay intercooler kit with 2.5" piping,
'godspeed' aluminum radiator
miv na wheels being shipped..
removed pin striping,
body matched moldings with red 'turbo' text and black supra emblem
stock turbo & wastegate..
running castrol gtx 10w30.
well guys, up to the point of getting the car to idle without missing on half the cylinders, the process has gone well. however, i am in a bind here and cant seem to track down the problem. im tired though and ill post more details and pictures when i get up tomorrow.
later,
aaron
