wow, agreed that i cant see how this would help make things more efficient... well its a new step ill give them that!

The point of the video was to show that they have programmed the robot to recognize analog (human) interaction. A robot following a set list of commands is dangerous for humans to be around as they wont stop following the list if something is changed or gets in the way (like a human). Rather than teach the less than precise human to work around the robot, teach the robot to work around the human.

Its not exactly revolutionary work however.
