My nieghbors Camaro was stolen early this morning right our of his garage. The crooks jacked up his garage door, then snaked the car between his two other cars parked outside. Don't ask me how they did it without being heard, we don't know.

Anyway, the car was recovered two hours after being reported as stolen. It was found about 75 miles away, stripped & left in a field. The motor was unbolted, but for whatever reason, it was left in the car. What's left of it was just returned.

specifically why i lock the supra and arm the alarm while its inside the garage. Its on open downpipe so id know if it got started but still makes me worry.

Even though my garage is detached from the house - and our bedroom is at the opposite end of the property from the garage - I've got my garage wired up to the house alarm. Motion sensor on the interior, and door sensors on the doors (except the front). If they get in they will trip the alarm, I'll wake up (monitor panel in master bedroom), and the police will show up.

Supra is also locked and armed even while in the garage - as is the Solara. They can have the Neon if they can get past the alarm. :)

that was REALLY well planned out. they had everything set up for that one and from the condition of whats left it looked like a really well taken care of car. i hope he finds the one responsible.

That is trully terrible. Seeing someone's hard earned work dessecrated that way. Your friend had to work hard to make that car as it was, and by the looks it WAS an incredible ss, my fav style camaro. I bet he was thinking in his mind for the first while "OH YEAH! I'm finally on Overhaulin!", and when he got his car back in less pieces than it was to start he must have realized the cold truth. I wish him luck with the insurrance company.

For domestics, I'm a dyed in the wool ford guy that hates Chevy's. I will say that his car was so clean & absolutely perfect that I would rock it any day of the week. If I said that he had $80k in it, I would be selling him short. If I had less testosterone, I'd cry for him. It's one of the few moments when it's cool for a 6'-4" 260lb man to sob like a baby, which is what he did when the wrecker pulled up & he say his piece of art after being raped.

Holy hell, makes me worry about my supra now :(

Funny thing is that no one wants our supras. The only people that steal our cars are joy riders and they would probably never steal a supra, especially in a garage. We have nothing to worry about..... :biglaugh:

Wow, thats really scary. I keep my car locked in a locked garage (but with windows, so thats kind of irrelevant, they could just break out the windows). So I would hope that if they broke into my alarm would go off and being that I sleep right above my Supra I would hear it.
