Parking ticket bastards. The past 2 places I've lived there are 4 lanes, 2 for parking and 2 for driving, yet when I park my car on the street since we only have one garage spot I get a ticket ( over night ). My purple shell is in the garage so I don't really have anything else to do. Needless to say I have quite a few tickets.

So I was posting on SM/SF when I heard a truck outside, looked out the window and there they are getting ready to tow my car. Needless to say I ran to get some pants on and sprinted outside. It's not night time so I thought I was safe, but apparently if you have 3 or more parking tickets they can tow your car anywhere no matter what to get you to pay them some money. Yeah, I'm not paying my parking tickets because I'm broke, not because I don't feel like it... paying a $115 fee to get your car out of the impound lot only makes me less likely to just pay the tickets. grrr. lucky for me i noticed, i just pulled my car in the driveway for now.

Are there signs posted that say no on street parking? If not, dont pay a dime unless it is documented elsewhere.

There is no signs at my old place where I got most of the tickets.... I was looking into the rules on this.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why wasn't the car in the driveway before?

I'm not trying to flame you or anything, but I only understood that you have a shell in your garage, which is why it isn't in there, but do you have someone else with you who isn't home at the time that has a car as well?

Also, you should contest those tickets where there were no signs. Read up on the by-laws so you're prepared and you can know what you can get away with. you don't want to get surprised with something you don't know.

Well my last place we were not allowed to park in back.. so I had no other option.

This place the people that live below me need to move their car, or I need to move my car ect.. so either I gotta keep moving my car all day, or they do... so I park it on the street.

Have you checked city regs to see if they allow parking on the streets between Nov and April? Reason I say that is in MN, most cities here have regulation for that and if they catch you parking on the street during the aforementioned months, ticket.
