Now there's this oil leak, oh great. And wouldn't you know it, I found the leak finally, but the engine was near the L mark on the dipstick and THAT's when I confirmed the rod knock. I was burning oil, and leaked it out. It was just before I left my house that I checked it, and the oil level was normal.

Oh yeah, hey ASSHOLE (I had to give you a better name) who says it was built "incorrectly", I just thought I'd say, it wasn't because it was built incorrectly, you assumed, lol :biglaugh:

I'm putting in a 1JZ, SARD kit, 800cc injectors, and a standalone.

Ross .020 over, clevite77's, shot-peened rods, and a Cometic HG are all that's in it. The leak was just a CPS gasket!

does your oil pressure gauge work? if my car is low i know right when i start it up, it always climbs to the same spot which is a little over the halfway mark, i think like 40+psi.. if it doesn't go that high i know its low.

I'm done with 7M's. Since I'll go 1JZ now in my main car with standalone, I plan to get another standalone, and drop ANOTHER 1JZ into my 83 and just use the same maps and tweak them for the turbos I have now, a 20G or 25G.

The pistons should be in fine shape.

It seemed that no matter how much attention I gave the 7M, I didn't find the leak until this happened.

The oil pressure guage in my main car doesn't work. I bought a DEFI electronic oil and fuel pressure guages I planned to hook up sometime, but I just got my household goods from Army contracted shipping this past Friday, I'm still trying to establish myself after being away from home for 5 years. Being a civilian again, I have a lot of time to change motors that's for sure.

Asshole?? Nice. You are the fool who ran low on oil and didn't have an oil pressure guage in the car. Not even a functioning stock guage. Oh, I still stand by that it was built incorrectly. Toyota bearings all the way.

I'm sure that 1jz will solve your lack of oil level attention and lack of an oil pressure guage.

Asshole?? Nice!:bigthumb: I am the guy you say I am. You accidentally made the mistake, and ran low on oil and didn't have an oil pressure guage in the car. Oh, I change to stand by that 7M's were built correctly. Toyota Supras all the way.

I'm sure that Defi Oil Pressure will solve your lack of oil PRESSURE (not level, I know I made that mistake the first time) attention and lack of an oil pressure guage.
