Well there it is, the options I have...im swapping over 89 turbo into my 87 na, one problem is that i have a gray plug harness/ecu, my options are pretty much limited....

I can re-pin, my and my friends dad can do it...we both have experience, any reason to stay away from that?

i can solder them, yet again me and my friends dad, both have a bunch of experience...Is this a safer/easier to do?

or sell my harness and get a yellow, that I know is the best/safest way...but if anything else can be done that gives me the same results, ill do that way...

well I had the same situation in my n/a to turbo swap, its not that hard to repin plugs once you find out what theyre all for - I did have to get one connector hard wired though but I can't remember wihich one.. its in the engine bay. There may have been another to hard wire but Im not sure.
The most annoying one was getting everything on the dash to work :)

In the end I found an 88 harness and used that because my 89 harness was a bit dodgy and the car didnt start.

If you want to find out the pins google '2jz into ma70 wiring' or something liek that and its a page on supras.nl that has all the plugs and what each wire does.

if it were me and i had the money i would just sell it and buy the correct fitting one so no problems or (not many) problems to worry about. compared to rewiring one.

Sell the current harness, buy a new one with the money. You'll be fine with the pre '89 harness on the '89+ motor. You will have to either A) get one or two new sensors, can't remember which ones, or 2) simply put the correct connector on the new harness. They're all one-wire jobs, and there are only two if I remember correctly. Very easy.

repin

all the sensors are the same for the entire MKIII line up (87-92). What changes is the plug and a couple of pins position.

(everyone so afraid of wiring)

I'm not afraid of wiring. I'd likely re-pin the harness, but for someone who asks about it rather than just doing it, that might not be the best idea. That's all I was saying. :)

hehe.

Of course I forgot to add, the re-pinning makes an assumption that the harness is in good working order!
