Anyone with an 88 or 89 Supra can help me with this.

Anyone have any idea what the 2 wire yellow connector inside the glovebox connects to?

I am installing an 88/89 harness and ECU into my 87 Supra. My 87 Turbo's engine harness did not have this. However it is on this new harness (MK3 production dates Jan 87 through Aug 88) Supra TURBO

It’s in the glovebox. It’s a yellow connector, two wires, there are 3 slots inside the connector (looks like 6 in the picture).

See the pics below.

Nothing looks like it plugs into it, yes (that I have); no it is not the HAC sensor.

I think it may be the hookup to the PPS (progressive power steering) computer.

^ That sensor is a Solar sensor and its not that and its not the HAC snesor either. When I get to my Supra I will get back to you if you havent found it out by then.

Thanks plaaya69.

Supra differences:

"With a successful redesign in '89, only minor changes were made in 1990. The steering wheel was changed once again, this time to include the standard driver's airbag for US models"

Yes it is not the solar sensor, not the HAC sensor, not the airbag sensor (1990+) and not a glovebox light.

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=Main&Page=24 has a good diagram. I am wondering if it is the one labeled A35 in the pic and deals with the A/C.

There are 2 wires: one is blue/white and the other is green/red if that helps.

What that plug goes to is their is a sensor on the plastic vent peice on the passingerside dash. The sensor is to the left and it tells the inside temp of the car. You will have to look under the dash and you will find a black sensor with a rubber hose that will go behind the radio. Hope you find it.

ive noticed that solar sensor in my 88 supra before, what does the car need a solar sensor for?

For the Climate Controls. Don't ask me, i'm just a mechanic :nono:
for a clearer def. (as per a 2002 Lexus GS 300 ) that sensor detects the amount of sunlight entering the vehicle, and adjusts fan speeds, and cooling to mantian a comfortable ride. Think of it this way.... what happens to a car that sits in the sun all day with the windows up.... gets hot. same thing while in motion as well. the climate system needs to overcome the radiant heat entering via light.
hope that helps

Does the connector match the one marked N in this picture?

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...=Main&Page=147

Yes it does.

In fact, I think you are correct on this one. I am going to look inside the car carefully and check the wire colors to be sure. I think this is the A/C Short Pin connector. I have another wiring diagram of my own on CD for my 87 Supra and it also matches the wire colors and shape of the connector. I think I am pretty close now. Thanks.
