Well, I have finally picked up another Supra! This is my third Supra, but I haven't had one for about 8 years.

Like the other two, I paid too much AND there is alot of work to be done.

The wheels are new Ultraleggera's, and I know I'll get hounded because I went with a wheel w/o a pronounced lip. But, I got a fantastic deal and they are only 17.5lbs/ea. That said, they look great (even more so in person) close up and in motion.

Interior is brown/tan and flawless (ran out of memory on my cam). It needs an LSD, brakes and few other things. It has 82,000 original miles and the original HG. I will be taking care of the LSD and HG ASAP. So far, there are no signs that the HG is bad (yet), but I am still going to take care of it as preventative maintenance.

The car already has a manual boost controller and FCD. I plan on doing a Tanabe exhaust, front lip (needs one anyway) and possibly a BBK. I probably won't do much more yet as I am going to try to use this as a DD. I only drive about 2 miles a day, so I can't justify owning two vehicles.

I am a computer programmer and web designer as well as a full time student. I do dabble in Photoshop and Illustrator, so if anybody needs anything chopped, let me know.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I plan on keeping this one for quite a long time. I have finally come to terms with my addiction to these cars.

I appreciate all of the information on this site.

As I said before, I need to get the LSD done right away and feel like I should also do a HG. I really wish I could find someone in the area to give me a hand. I'd love to be able to learn how to do these things for the future, but it looks like I'll just end up having sound performance rebuild the LSD and do an OEM HG.

I feel like I am missing a great learning opportunity, but I just don't have the confidence to try to pull these repairs off by myself.

Anyway - if there is anybody in the area that would be willing to help me, please let me know. I will have a three week vacation starting 5/12 and a garage to do the work in. I am more than happy to pay for your time and instruction.

I'll even go one further: If there is someone especially qualified, but not in the area, I will pay for your flights to/from, give you a place to stay, food/drinks/alcohol/the works, and pay you for your time!

If I can't find anybody to do this, maybe there is someone local who could be my "OH Sh!t, wtf did I do?" contact.:biglaugh:

Yeah, I'll definitely keep my eye out for any meets. I love seeing what others do with their supras.

As far as my car, it is very clean. The biggest fault I can find with it is the paint job. The paint itself is new and decent, but it looks like it was not prepped as well as it should be. There are a couple of marks underneath the paint (probably dirt).

Most people say it looks excellent, but I am a perfectionist, and it's black paint... It's certainly passable for the time being (I would say as good as some lower-end factory jobs), but not a show caliber paint job. The other issue is that I used to be a bodyman, so I am sure that I notice just about everything. I will be painting the car eventually, probably next summer. I will most likely keep it black, but I have been trying to find a color / mix that will allow me to do a black-green color (a color that appears classic black from just about every angle with just a hint of forest green in the light). This is a color I can see in my head, but as of yet have not been able to find or create.

Luckily, I only live a couple blocks away from my old body shop; they said I could use their booth whenever I was ready to go.
