Hey guys how yall doin?
Question - would a bad igniter cause my car to hard start after being parked for lets say about 6 hours? Reason for asking is my mechanic diagnostic tool came up with a fault on the igniter so b4 i buy this part i just want to know if my igniter is the real cause of my problem.

Define a hard start. Is it not cranking when you turn the key? Does it sputter when it's trying to fire up? Do you have any stored codes on the check engine light?

To diagnose it, I would recommend (if possible) using a known working igniter. Not like you can remove it from the system to diagnose if it is bad... :p However, the TSRM should outline a way of testing them with an ohmmeter/voltmeter.

Got another Igniter but problem still there, Hard start meaning when i try starting it would just tumble, sometimes it would start and idle up to the 800 RPM then cut off, and then ill have to keep my foot on the gas over 1000 RPM and keep it there for 5mins for the car to heat up and then it would work good. Could this be a problem with the computer?

Sounds more like a TPS or IACV issue to me. First off, make sure your TPS is set correctly (TSRM should be able to help you there). Once that is confirmed to be set properly, try starting the car. If you still have the same problem (car only stays alive with foot on the throttle, you might need to check out your IACV. Sometimes they get dirty. Not sure if the 2j one can be cleaned out like the 7m one. The 1j IACV is a pain in the ass, you can't open them up, and they're rather pricey to replace.
