In the attachments, notice the cable that is spliced into 2. The original one is the cable that goes to the starter motor. Half way, it gets divided to another cable that goes through the firewall, as seen in another of the pictures. Now, the way it's all cut up (I covered it with red tape though, as you can see) I doubt that it was there in the stock trim, but I'm not sure.

Anyone else got a cable like that or was it something that the previous owner did?

PS: No, I haven't bothered yanking on it. Haven't gotten my neighbor to go help out yet (after I'm done, I have to play xbox with him for like 3 hours).

Pretty sure there shouldn't be a wire coming off the starter wire there....

Well it seems whatever it was for it was either a direct connection to the starter from the ignition or they were trying to tap into the starter signal for some reason. Killswitch maybe?
I have no idea honestly, the only other cable that should be coming off that should be the clip for the auto tranny which is a lot higher up than that.

And mine's a manual........ I'm going downstairs now that the sun has died down a bit and I'm going to have a look. I'll probably find out and mention what it is in about an hour.
