Wrong Eagle rods 7mgte

Has anyone noticed that there is a set of Eagle rods that are clamied to fit 7MGTE but doesnt fit the enginge? (Not atleast without 86mm bore)

My friend bought his first MK3 last summer and got Eagle rods with JE pistons with the car and the engine machinist called and told the rods doesnt fit, they are exactly the same size as original but the big end is bigger and doesnt make in to the cylinder!

There are no markings on the Rods, no eagle logo or. anything.

22mm up (0.86in) (piston)
55mm down (2.16in) (crank)
152mm Length (5.98in)
81mm wide (3.18in)

Eagle:
22mm up (0.86in) (piston)
55mm down (2.16in) (crank)
152mm Length (5.98in)
85.5-86mm wide (3.38in)

How wide is the Real Eagle rod?

Nope, nothing! Cant find anything, not even a number or anything.

does he have the box? im wondering if it was a production mistake, and the rods in the box arnt for a 7m at all, and that they are for another engine

Might try contacting eagle, but you might not have much luck

I had a stock bore 7M with Eagles in it.
it was a few yeas ago, but I am pretty sure they said 'Eagle' on them.
Where did you buy the rods from ?
Maybe they are counterfeit chinese Eagle rods, not real chinese Eagle rods :aigo:
