I come from a land down under
24mm socket

<check fill plug can be undone> edit ;)
(If stuck skip the next 2 steps when fixed start again)

Undo drain plug with a bucket or drain pan ready to catch the old Oil

Once drained replace drain plug

Swear at stuck fill plug then remove

Fill until oil reaches the bottom of the fill hole

Replace fill plug

Smile :)

I thought you always make sure you can open the fill plug before draining the differential.. This is a better way to plan your work.

I figure if you're going to do the job the Fill plug IS coming out one way or another and it being empty is good incentive to NOT leave the old oil in there!
(There was a reason to be changing it in the first place ;) )

Dave: LOL ya just KNOW it's not going to be easy! ;)

I often wonder how they end up so tight as it's holding Oil in it's not sealing on the threads so isn't going to be stuck from corrosion!

Lol, I hear ya. Just that if it's your only ride and you need something to get it out you're left standing there with dick in hand ;)
