my goals are 400-600 in a 7m with a 57 trim ct. im doing it with new parts where they are needed and used on the non moving parts and some bling:biglaugh:.

im goin to do this the right way engine stand forged internals arps clevites all around....etc.

this is one of those parts that cost an arm. so i was wondering would it be a smart idea to get a 2j intake mani and weld it to the gte runners?what are the hp limits of a 2jz intake manifold compared to the stock 7m one?

If you are saying you are doing the build properly then $600 for a proper intake manifold is nothing. Stock 2J manifold is about $150+ then 10 hrs labor at a shop charging $50 an hour and you are already at $650!

Search a bit, it has been done. As for HP limits you can do 400RWHP with a stock 7M manifold easily and you should be able to do 600rwhp on a 2J manifold as well. One thing is that I am hoping you are not planning to make that power on a 57 trim CT.... cause it won't happen. Maybe 400rwhp at about 20psi, I did 375rwhp at 18psi recently with a full setup.

Seth, the OP edited his post at 9, you answer a little after 10. In the original post, the OP made it sound like he was just going to bolt the 2JZ intake mani up to the 7M, which is why I made the comment that I did. I know that it can be done with fabrication (cut/weld), but that is not the way his version of the idea came across.

i made 355.6whp on a 50 trim ct @ 20 psi a 57trim i could get into the mid 400whp range for sure (it's all in the tune)

my friend knows how to weld and he can do it for me for free.150-2+free=150-200:icon_bigg.i have all the metal cutting tools i need at home.

seriously im the kinda person that will do every last piece of work at home.im a die hard gearhead and wont let some random shop touch my car and fck it up.
clutch to master brake cylinder i do it all at home.

seth i thought the 57 trim ct was rated at like 450ish from driftmotion?am i wrong?

one more thing ive never driven anything faster than 260 rwhp so i dont even know how much i realisticly want yet the 4-600 is what i think i want. my friend said 300 is plenty fast as your first boosted car.

if your going to do it "right", a standalone is and should be the first mod. no way in hell id push 550+whp with out better tuning then a scaled stock ecu...

There is a lot of moeny involved in having a custom intake manifold created. I have thought about doing it many times, but in the end you'll realize that buying a tested one that really gives you proven power is a lot better then trying to "save" money.

In the end you don't save moeny, and it does not look as nice.

Suprasports FFIM intake manifold for the 7M should be complete in the next couple of months so people can buy it.

man i'd say under 400hp is fine for now and only 355 on 20psi? what kind of tune were you running?

he was useing a 50 trim not a 57. also he was using maft pro. 355whp was done on pump and in all reality the car should have made about 35-40hp more but defective parts were found after the fact.

An even "cheaper" alternative to the JZ mani. It's what ill be using in conjunction with a Q45 Throttle Body, its a beautiful peice of metal i got mine $10 off by getting it through their ebay site. Shouldnt cost you anymore than $150, but thats with the end caps and TB adapter.

and as i recall supracentral did this with a 2JZ mani. and had a write up on it and he still hasent POSTED IT!!! lol;)

You sure that is a 50 trim? That seems like lot for a 50trim. My tune went rich on top end so I lost so peak power, but 10 maybe 15HP at most! So you must have a miracle 50 trim. Plus I was running out of boost on topend with the 57 trim!

As for the OP, I build custom manifolds, search a bit you will find all the different ones I have built over the years. You may be able to do this mod for cheap but you will still have a stock looking piece with flanges and such that you are using that do not match up.
