Worried about IC fitment (dimensions)

So finally my IC got shipped out; but I just read somewhere (like 10 minutes ago) that some guy couldn't get a 26" long ic to fit; and the IC i bought is 32x12x3...

Is it going to fit at all; or am I going to have to cut a lot of shit?

Bleh.. I thought I researched this enough before I bought everything; I just figured bigger = better... :rofl:

I got my fmic. Its 600mm x 300mm x 100mm with 3inch in/outlets. It fits behind the front bumper without cuttin the intrusion bar with room to spare. It sort of sits between the chassis rails where the nose bolts onto the chassis.

It's not going to fit. The inside dimensions of the bumper supports are approx 29". Sell it & buy another one, don't think about cutting the supports.

i guess it depends on how big the endtanks are, and how high up you want to shove it up there.

i had one with 26" wide core, and averaged sized endtanks..... it did NOT fit at all. had nothing to do with the bumper support... its the main frame rails that run lengthwise.... those are the main structural rails and you can't touch those at all. If the IC was only 6-8" tall it would have fit, but the one I got was only 10.5" tall and it hung under the lip about an inch or so. It would not go any higher because the endtanks were hitting the rails.

You're right, the end of my tape measurer bumped up a piece of plywood I'm using for a mock up, I didn't see it because I didn't crawl underneath the car. It's 30 1/2" from rail to rail.

so it will possibly fit; I'm sure with a little magic I can make it work then.

Atleast I'm praying it is going to fit, but if I try and mock it up and it doesn't go then I guess I will sell it and wait again. I Have been waiting over a month for a damn IC.

But then again... I wasn't shopping for pre-made intercoolers, I went custom.

I measured mine years ago when I was thinking of going Air to Air and maybe back then I was looking at off the shelf sizes and 28" was one.

Well, if it doesn't fit then i'll list it on e-bay and get what i paid for it back and buy another one.
