Well, after blowing out a head gasket from running 20psi on a 57trim, I finally tore down the block and took some photos of the carnage.

One BHG, one missing #2 ringland, one fried #2 piston, and one roasted #5 rod bearing = cool carnage pics! :D

PS: 56K will have time to order broadband, wait for it to be available, get it installed, and THEN they can view my pics.

SavageBoosterJack! Looks like you have a nice conversation piece/ashtray/paper weight/meat tenderizer for the cheaper cuts your teeth will be subject too due to the cost of this rebuild..Don't worry as I'm doing macaroni right now..lol..

Oh - I forgot to mention that I found the missing ring landing. It was kind of glued to the side of the crank, and feels like a rough beach sand with sharper edges.

Dave is that block and bottom end still salvagable?

I think #2 went a little lean, I have to get the injectors checked to see if one of them isn't firing quite as much.

I think the bottom end is still salvageable... it's not in bad shape, considering the look of the piston!

ill be the first to say it "that shit'll buff out"

time for some CP pistons, pauter rods and cryo-treatment ;) dont forget micropolishing the crank, resizing the rod ends and ARP hardware. also, id look to Swaintech for some ceramic coating for the crowns.

i still have you beat ;) you should see the #5 piston that came out of kellys/psifactors orignal 7M. it was melted all to hell. there was aluminum on the cylinder wall and the cylinder head.

nice kill regardless!!!
