So I've been having a hard time with my car. it turns on and stays on when my foot is on the pedal but wont idle on its own.
When i adjust the idle screw it stays on but then messes with my tps and throws a code. I also opened up the screw on top of the throttle body (im not sure if its for idle) it stays on but sounds like a big air leak and i dont like that. lol

I rewired my knock sensors with rg6 quad shielded wire. Also put a knock sensor from my 7mge tht was good on the rear part were its most hard to get to. i did this because i know it was good since the 7mge didnt throw a knock sensor code.
After all that i still get code 52.

I also have a slight missfire between 1k-2k rpms

Not sure what to do anymore any help would be great

After you do the rewire you have to reset your codes. 52 and all but like 1 other code get stored in the memory. Pull the EFI fuse for 5 seconds and put it back and the code should clear.

There is no idle screw. There's a reason these cars have something called "Idle speed control valve"

The reason it messes with your TPS and throws a code is your causing the IDL contact to stay open while your foot isn't on the gas.

There is no screw on top of the throttle body, they're all supposed to be capped.

If you still got code 52 then you've got two possibilities, the knock sensor is bad or you did the rewire wrong.

Fix your previous problems and you're misfire might disappear.

I did pull out the efi fuse and disconected the battery. One thing I wasnt sure of was if each wire from the knock sensor had a specific pin it had to be in. or does it not mater aslong as the both sending signal?

Pre 89 had the screw on the throttle body but it's supposed to be screwed all the way in.... Is your Iac plugged in? And if so is the hose running from it to the accordian hose kinked?also what "idle screw" are you talking about if your not talking about the one on the throttle body

Other than that this

The KS pins are NOT specific. as long as the ECU is getting two signals it will be happy.

Make sure your TPS is calibrated correctly....follow these steps per TSRM
1) Idle screw all the way in
2) adjust throttle stop screw
3) adjust dashpot
4) adjust/calibrate TPS

What ithat screw for then? Sounds like it brings in air from the acording. And yess the iac is connected and hose is on the according and not kinked. The screw im tlking about is very small on the side of the tb but adjusting tht throws code 51 since it keeps the throttle open, so I put it bak the way it should be

Yes, you did the right thing then.
As mentioned above, your tps must be calibrated to close the IDL contact in order to activate the idle air control valve.
