I have a 255 pump, and a brand new fuel pump bracket. I have done the research on here and saw most of the pumps wired up with 2 wires. positive and ground. Well, my new pump *bracket* came with 3 wires. positive, ground, and another one that looks like it goes to a relay box on the frame of the bracket. Can someone please clearify this ? trying to wire everything back up today and hopefully have it all running tomorrow afternoon.

Edited this adding the word with * around it.

I figured it out by looking at the old pump. I couldn't remember if I had tossed it in the trash or not. Come to find out that it was in the corner of the garage. That little box is a relay I guess. It was connected to the positive side of the pump. So I did the same. I will find out tomorrow if everything is running right or not.

I reworded the first post in this thread. It was the pump bracket that had three wires. The new pump had a positive and a ground.

A little late to ask for a pic. It is all back together now. I will snap one of the old bracket so you guys know what I'm talking about. So who has the 255 upgrade? At least out of the guys that wrote on here so far.

Mine had the same, My guess is that its a grounding circuit to prevent any sparks in the tank if water is introduced as petrol is a non-conductor, water is a conductor.

I run a Walbro 255LPH

Problem has been fixed. We cracked the line open between the pump and the filter and put power to the pump ( Fp-B+) fuel came squirting out. Tightened the line back up and then cranked it up. Started with no problems that time. My guess was air near the filter or something. But she runs perfect now.
