Wires that connect to the starter?

hey guys...

got a question. ok 2 wires connect to the starter.
1 the power wire that connects to the bat. terminal.
2 ?

where does the 2nd wire come from?
is it on the engine wiring harness you remove when u pull the motor.
or is it on the side that stays in the car?

i think it is a brown plug... but im not for sure:1zhelp: :1zhelp: :1zhelp:
