Hey there I'm working on a 1988 Supra 7MGTE 5 speed. I am currently working on cleaning up a few things in the engine bay. I came up with a couple questions, since I am relatively new to Supras. Although I know Toyota pickups quite well. So, first question. I have headlight washers that I am looking to get rid of. So the question is if I remove the "washer relay cont" thing on the drivers inner fender by the fuse box/battery will my windshield washers still work?

Question two. I basically want to move my under hood fuse box to a new location at the passenger side back near the firewall possibly inside under dash. So I'm hoping someone has done this and is familiar enough to know what I am talking about when I say that there is one plug on the driver's side near the alternator that I don't know what it is. It is the only thing preventing me from moving the wire harness around to the other side. All the other plugs near there (around the batt/alt area) are not being used anymore such as the alternator plugs fan relays and such. But there is still that one plug I need to deal with. It has 5 wires its yellow or greenish and it is right beside the alternator plug in (same harness). What is it?

Thanks:love:

I'm not asking how to do a wire tuck. Just read post 1 again please. I also searched wire tuck and read through a bunch of those. No answer for the above 2 questions I posted. Mainly it is the one greenish plug. To find it you would put your hand on the back of the alternator. Then run your hand down the wire on the back of the alternator until you reach the loom end where it goes into the harness. It is right there. It is a plug with 5 wires. What is it?

Alllll these engine bays being posted with nothing on the fenders and not 1 person can answer. SM has failed.

One end of the wires on this plug go under the intake manifold and the other end goes into the harness loom. The same loom as the alternator wires!!! grrrr no pic sorry but I think I have described it exceptionally well.

Considering the thread you linked to is dedicated to what that plug is, you should read through that wait for your answer. As for your wipers, just unplug it and see if it works. If your doing a wire tuck you should expect to have to lengthen a few wires here and there.

No I am stripping my car down for the winter to get some things done. Do you have the 7m? Or anyone with the plug should try n disconnect it and see what happens. I would but my car is not up and running. That is a great idea. I would LOVE if it was an unused plug. That would mean I could continue with my wire tuck plan.

Ya if you do disconnect it then I don't think the fuel pump would work. I found a bit of info when I did a google search of "7MGTE C1 check connector". I have kinda figured it out now that it is an important connector. Well at least 2 of the 5 wires are necassary. I still need to look into it further to understand it. I dunno if it will hurt to try. Maybe you shouldn't do it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will slowly be working over the winter on weekends and after work some days. I just started doing the wire tuck and I eliminated some things I don't want or need. And already I hate how many open ended plugs there are. Plus our cars have so much weight on the front end so I plan to take out all that I can from the front end especially. So ya bye bye headlight cleaners, bye bye stock ac fans, bye bye ac, bye bye ac fan relays, bye bye ac pump and a lot more goodbyes I hope.
