has anyone had there driverside window broken into, and when the window place put the new window in, you get wind noise when you are driving, when its either really windy outside, or when you are going at like 45+ mph. its the same sound that you get when your window is barely cracked. its really annoyoing, and i would love to know how to get rid of it. it has new weather stripping btw.

There was a problem with the A shaped piece (the edge, where the window slides), it may be cracked (mine's prolly too).
There was a thread on this wind noise, and also a writeup for repairing of this A piece rubbers was in this thread. It had something to do with a towel and some other stuff.

HA! Thats BS! I have had mine out and its a B!%#& but you can adjust it some in almost every angle. They probably left a bolt out or bent one of the window tracs.....guess what you get to do:cry:

So, they pretty much told you to put up with it and like it?

there is two stop's that bolt into the door.you adjust them up or down depending on what your trying to do.moving them up will allow the window to put more pressure on the rubber seal.you can also use a heat gun on the triangle rubber piece to form to the glass better.there just being lazy or don't know what there doing.this is how i know

Uh... ya, the shop is trying to screw you.

Print out this page from the TSRM: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=BO&P=12

Take it with you the next time you go complain. Ask them to explain why there is a section on how to adjust the glass in the Toyota Service Repair Manual if there is, as they claimed, no adjustments.

well actually i have the actual tsrm book itself, and have seen the window adjustment. but me being new to it, i get somewhat confused. i was hoping someone would explain it a little better. lol

yeah, there is TONS of adjustment...

In all honesty it seems like the aftermarket windows don't have quite the same dimensions, so getting them to fit right and seal is a royal pain...

its actually not an aftermarket window, it was actually pulled from my friend's junked 88 supra. and thats the actual supra window.

and yeah i have seen the thread with the "A" thing by the side mirror. but i'm thinking of adjusting the bolts more. i just don;t know what way to turn them to go either up or down. cause it needs to slide back, and up.

It's a REALLY shitty job to do, it took hours to get mine "close enough"

Not until I replaced the targa seals did it ever shut up as the seals will eventually stick in the position the window was in, move the window and it won't seal anymore...

well i took of the door panel, yesterday, and moved the window stops up. when i tried it out, it was better, but there was still the whistling sound. and the window stops are all the way up. i'm thinking i might need to tilt the window. and i know its the two screws in the center of the door, but i don't know whick way to turn them or what. cause if i loosen or tighten, it doesn't seem like it's making a differenece.

there is more than just that...

it's mostly trial and error (lots of error) and getting a handle on how everything will move the window around...

The glass place should have done this...
