Will these valve clearances create a stumbling idle when engine is hot? When cold engine seems to run fine.....That led me to valve clearances, i set up the cps correctly according to the shop manual, not sure if that is correct. Should i look at something else? Any Takers? (Exh .20-.30mm, Int .15-.25mm is specification)

it shouldn't..

would probaly make some valve noise.

check your vacume it should be really close to 20inmh

check for cracks in accordian hose, and for clogged vac lines.

also that there is no debree in the idle speed control motor intake tube.

i will try cleaning out the isc, i think all of my hoses are ok, but its cheap so i might just get all new ones, i had a code for the cps a few weeks ago, the wire had a few cracks on it inside of the cam sensor, i attempted to fix it before with a little shrink wrap but i dont know if it helped, ill be able to check vacuum next weekend, compression is all good, any other suggestions guys before i dig into it again?

inspect your cps further. sounds like it may have a high resistence problem when it's hot. that will cause a bad idle byu not sparking the plug's correctly.

i heard it is only really used at start up. (so says my instructor, but i belive our's control spark to a point.
