i just finished a 1jz swap, everything is stock except intake, after market y-pipe, 3in down pipe, test pipe, 3in fujistubo cat back exhaust.

i am wondering if i put on my perrin MBC and set it at the lowest setting, will it keep me from hitting fuel cut? i am seeing 15psi or so and then hit fuel cut in 2nd through 4th (have not gone in to 5th wot yet) and not able to go over 5500rpm's

any help would be great

thanks

No. Boost controllers cannot lower your boost, only increase it. As pointed out above, you're going to need to get something to retune around the fuel cut.

Negative sir. As Grim pointed out, you can only increase boost that way. Take it off and you're running on your waste gate's actuator. Only way I can see lowering your boost pressure is to either keep your foot out of it so much, or replace your actuators with lower pressure units. Have fun doing that if you've already put the engine in though haha...

By the way, how cold is it where you are? I've NEVER seen boost pressures above 13-14psi without the boost controller, no matter how cold it got (it's seen -30F). My setup isn't far off from yours, except I have a stock intake, ported/polished head, and BC264 cams.

looks like ill be getting the safc and a FCD, thanks for the info guys!

its about 30F to 40F out right now, but its a very moist state, lol......i was just hoping cuz i heard that a good mbc will help keep it from creeping to much.

agian, thanks for clearing that up for me.

have to pull fuel. Can you richen it up a tad and remove 5% with the safc? otherwise lean it out to 11.8 and that might be just enough with the safc to get past fuel cut.

you might want to look for a small boost leak that could cause this

Forgive me if I'm thinking along the wrong lines, but being that the 1j's are MAP based, boost leaks don't affect things like a MAF setup (i.e. 7m) setup does?
