Wierd problem.

Hey everyone every time i step on the brake pedal my radio turns off and turns back on. What could cause this? im guessing something tied in with the brake light switch and the radio.

Does the engine seem to bog down or anything else like lights dim/cutoff when you brake? Most likely it's not a direct cause, but rather indirect from the motion of braking. I had an issue similar to this that had to do with wires shifting that were then shorting slightly when I braked. Eventually it got enough of a short to blow a fuse to which I about pulled my hair out as to why it happened. (Broken power wires leading to clock/radio circuit)

well when the abs kicks in the lights dim like the abs is using power to regulate the brakes, but its just when i tap the brake enough to turn on the brake light switch

Have you checked your battery connections? I know when mine were corroded somewhat I was having trouble transferring current. When you're tapping the brakes, would it be enough for the battery or the cables to shift slightly?

Does this problem only occur if you are moving, or can you tap on the brakes when you are sitting still and get the problem to reoccur?
