what gear do you use?

I know you want to get a good picture of ~3000 to 6200rpm.
If you're using 4th, you're going to be zipping along pretty fast by the time you get to redline.

Just use third gear. It's long enough and slow enough so that you can see the whole graph with pretty good accuracy. 4th is a bit too long... 120mph? :biglaugh:

I use 3rd, and if I wanna not pull too fast, I lightly apply brake as I go through the range, same load, but slightly slower rate of accelleration so I can see the graph like was mentioned above, with nice accuracy. Good luck.

how about the rpm range?
I have seen don't tune below 3000 since the ecu is still controlling things.
I have also seen don't tune below 3500.
But I have also seen in my data logs that the ecu is still able to maintain ~12.5 to 4000rpm.

which is it?

The best I can figure is open loop is triggered by some sort of load calculation. It is not triggered just by TP or any other single factor.

I don't start tuning my High TP until 3500 with the SP61 but will probably have to move it down to 3000 or even 2500 with the CT.
