i installed a PLX wideband in my car, ever since i plugged it in, it throws a code at me when the car is idling, or ive down shifted and am coming to a stop. As soon as i start driving the light goes off. Car feels normal when the light is on, its very frustrating. Thanks in advance

How exactly did you do that?
What other options did you install? What other wires did you touch? Did you replace the stock o2 with this one?
And what code#? procedure here

the power i hooked up to the cigarette lighter power, and grounded it to the same ground as my cd player. The stock o2 senor was not moved at all, not even removed from the down pipe.

sounds like you either forgot to hook up the NB output to the ECU or the PLX's WB output is wrong.....scale it to match the "normal" NB output....

i take it the NB is the white or grey wire off the back of the wideband?? I was told that those wernt needed, i guess he was wrong. how would i got about scaleing it to match normal NB?? Also, i do have an Safc-ii installed, should i have hooked the wideband to that??

If you still have the stock o2 and didn't cut it's wires, you don't need the nb output of the PLX.

What code are you getting?

ill have to check the code in the morning, i didnt have time before work, and the neighbors dont like it when im out working on my car after midnight... i will find out tommorow and go from there. Hopefully nothing serious. I wish i would have thought to use just the one O2 sensor before i had a new bung welded in my DP

I have the PLX installed with the stock O2 still in place and running the HKS VPC and S-AFC II combo with no problems. Sounds like it's not related to the PLX, but I'm curious about the code...

i dont really think it has anything to do with the wideband either, but it started the first time i drove the car after install, so thats why im looking there. Where do you have your sensor located on the downpipe?

The WB sensor is just downstream of the stock one about 3-4 inches or so and about 45 degrees off of where the stock on sits, too.

Jayhall - Did you take out the downpipe and/or elbow to get the bung welded in for the wideband? When you reinstalled it you may have messed up the connector or wiring of the stock o2, when re-connecting it. :dunno:

the downpipe was out, and i did try reconecting the stock O2 sensor, it was done up very well. Im thinking about resetting the ECU, letting it re-learn with the second O2 sensor. I also found the my stock o2 sensor wires were on my turbo :3d_frown: so that may also have something to do with it. Im going to do some work this week, hopefully figure it out
