i have a mk3 supra i have been slowly building over the past couple of years. the plan is to paint it this year. the rear wheel wells are rusted out so im going to be cutting and welding anyways. i have seen some guys building pre runners cut the wheel wells and pull the fenders out then re-weld with sheet metal to fill the gap. and i thought i could in theory do the same thing with my supra, it would be quite easy seeing as it will be mostly cut out anyways. has any one done this before? i did a quick search but i didn't come up with anything, so i figured i would just make a thread.

if it would work it would be a really cheap and easy way to get another inch on ether side, and give the mk3 more of an aggressive look. if i widen the rear i would most likely widen the front fenders a little also. Please give me some feedback, any suggestions, advice, or your personal experience would be appreciated.

im thinking of something a little more custom than a kit. i have a pretty good idea of how to do it, just wasn't sure if anyone had done something similar before. i think im just going to do it

Dooooo et. I am also thinking about taking a similar approach, but i would only do the rear. To me the fromt looks agressive but the rear is lacking n comparison.

yeah, I'm going to do somewhere 1" - 1 1/2" in the back, and probably like 3/4" in the front. i have a couple spare front fenders and rear quarters if i need them.

Those are fiberglass front and rear fenders. Shine auto sells them except the ones in the pic are even wider. All the moldings and aero have been adjusted to fit properly as well. His car is very well done.

his looks to be widened quite a bit. im only going to try to go about 1" wider on each side. i think i will be able to get away with it without side skirts and adding 10lbs of bondo and fiberglass to the door.. and the gas door would come out with the fender on my car, so i wouldn't need to modify that too much.

You will still have to modify the rear lower quarter panel beside the door if you want your widebody to look proper.

depending on where and how far i decide to cut the lower quarter panel might come out also. i started making a 1" widder front fender today as practice, out of a fender i had that wasn't in very good shape . it was allot easier than i was expecting it to be, it still needs allot of work untill its done but it took its basic shape and it looked sexy as fuck. i think tomorrow im going to try and figure out where exactly im going to cut the rear wheel wells. i still dont have a welder so progress is going to come to a hault pretty soon
