Ok, not that im complaining but I just don't know what to think. After installing my profec e-01 it took me little bit to get a boost setting to around 12psi. But lately, I have been seeing more and more boost with out changing the settings at all. It started a few weeks back when I went full throttle and my car just took off. Turned out to be at 17psi! Thats not it though, I hit 20.3 psi today? I obviously didnt take it far in the RPM's, maybe to 4000.

I have a stock CT-26, and I dont know why fuel-cut is not kicking it. I have hit it before so I know what it is. The other thing is that I have a FAZE mechanical boost gauge that I bought from advance auto like a year ago for like $40 that is showing only a max of 10psi. I think it might have a weak vacuum source though and its a little beat up. The profec is hooked up to one of the vacuum lines on top of the throttle body, is that an accuate place.

The vacuum lines on the top of the throttle body are not accurate, they are pre-throttle so they will only show you vacuum when the throttle is opened.. otherwise they will stay at zero. They may also show you a higher PSI durring shifts. I'd try using another vacuum line and seeing if the problem goes away.. otherwise the boost controller may have a few bugs.

I will try a new location, now i know why vacuum was always so low, lol. I just thought it didnt show vacuum.

You mean for the other gauge? I will check again but i probably would have noticed when I rebuilt the motor.

Could it possibly be the gauge. The past couple days I've been researching boost gauges and I've heard nothing but bad comments about Faze gauges. I have two Faze gauges already and had posted about wanting to buy a boost gauge and people just asked "Why?" Could be right, could be wrong, hope its some help! Good luck!

Thanks Dark. Im pretty well convinced its shot or something it the line is kinked. lol At least i got my $40 worth out of it though. And Im pretty sure it was accuarate when I first put it in cause it always seemed to be on the money. It would show 14-15 psi right before i hit fuel cut. The greddy should display an accuate reading though, i just need to make sure i give it a good vacuum source.

Ok, so I fianaly got off my lazy butt and played around with the vacuum lines. I hooked up the profec directly to the source on the side of the intake manifold near the firewall. And turns out the "crappy" faze boost guage was right on the mark. I was only doing 10psi. :eek3: I was a bit surprised. I turned it up a little bit and hit 12psi on both guages.

Oh and hottscennessey, I love the profec. I only have experince with a crappy mbc before this so I cant compare much. But I swear with it on now my car hauls, and seems to spool a little quicker. I still havent been able to wire in the external wire harnes to monitor rpm, a/f, speed, and stuff but I will soon. Its another option that seperates it from the rest of the field. I would highly recomend it.

Your car feels faster with the profb because most electronic boost controllers close the wastegate signal untill the very possible end - when it HAS to open.

For example:

Electronic...

1, 5, 6, 10 BAM! Electronic circuit says open! The step motor opens, and the boost hits the wastegate.

Its also very hard to tell cause I installed the profec at the same time I did a full rebuild and a couple of other mods that woke up my car a bit. But you are right about wastegate staying closed. good call

By the way, I have a Q for you. I will send you a PM.
