Why can I only get 6 psi?

I installed an after market boost controler and when I turn it down I can make less boost but even when turned all the way up I can only make 6 psi, should I put washers under my wastegate? Your thoughts please

I have a boost controler in it, that's the strange part. I went ahead and put the washers under the waste Gate bolts and I'm getting around 10 psi now that I have tightened the spring up a bit

And that's about as far as you wanna go. Any more than that and you start hitting boost cut anyway.

Yeah, sounds like something isn't right. With a boost controller you should be able to increase boost, not lower it.

It sounds like you have a boost leak and the boost controller set to max was just helping to hide your leak. If the controller couldn't get you past 6, and now you're at 10 from shimming the wastegate you might be running the SHIT out of your turbo.

I'd take out the washers, remove the boost controller (or turn it off, whatever) and get it running correctly.

Something's not right and you might just kill that motor if you've got a big boost leak...

Thanks guys, after running all new intercooler piping the leak was still there and getting worse. I found that after all that my bov was the culprit. As the turbo would spool the bov would open letting all my boost go, I replaced it with a better quality one and now I'm pushing 8 to 10 psi just fine. Hoping this can help someone else down the road as it was an obvious yet hard problem to hunt down
