First post and it might sound dumb but why is it that I need to use a 1jz flywheel on a 2j motor for the r154 trans? I know that maybe the clutch splines are different but that can be fixed but ordering a resplined disk.. Is size of the disk or bolt holes on the flywheel for the pressure plate that are different? Im going crazy here lol help

You need to because the pressure plates are different in relation to the transmission used.

Or in other words, you need to buy a flywheel for the engine, but the disk / pressure plate are purchased for the transmission.
