So when I start up my car it makes a Whoop noise literally WHOOP! It's comin from under the hood and it only does after the car hasn't been started for a day or so...I don't have anyone who can stick there head under the hood to tell where it is comin from....any ideas? This just started about 2 weeks ago :icon_conf

No it's like a .....deep whoop and it's for about a second it's like a pump whoop noise....What pump under the hood starts up at the same time as the car? I think it's comin from the passanger side...

Well I went out and tried to get the car to make the whoop noise but well it wouldn't OF COURSE! Argh! However I did get it making some of it's other noises :) This first one is right after you shut of the car it makes a wierd clicking noise right near the firewall I have no idea what it is but over time it has gotten louder..Just curious as to what it might be

This second one is of the "ticking" that has been going on for about a month now....Three weeks ago it was LOUD when you started it up Very loud! I don't know if it's a valve, rod, or maybe piston slap bah maybe it's nothin I tried to rev it becayause you hear it up to 2k or so but my fan is so loud you can't really hear it :(

Is you PS pump making a whinning noise while running? Maybe it's got a slow leak in the injectors and is loading up on fuel in the cylinder/s while sitting. Then when you go to start it that built up fuel ignites, possibly making the "whoop" noise...:dunno:

I don't think the charcoal canister would ever make that kinda noise either...

the clicking noise on shut down is a good thing. when you can't hear it you need to worry. that clicking is the isc resetting itself so the ecu knows exactly where it's at for start up. when it's not click on shut down your isc isn't resetting and that can cause all kinds of idle problems.

Could the "venom injector have anything to do with that? :icon_conf

I just put that new ps in well it's used but new to me the old one leaked real bad It only whines if you turn the wheel all the way and the car isn't moving....

^ Um, yeah! If you've got venom's that could very likely be a contributing factor to your issue ;).

I'm sure you've heard plenty of ppl bashing venom around here. After all I've head I'll never go the venom route;).
