And I realize there are girls on this board too, so the question still applies, would you let your guy drive it?

The idea for this thread started out because I have been letting my wife drive the Supra to work this week. We also have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer (it's not a OZ rally, just the regular, it's an auto tranny.. blah). I drive a lot farther to work every day, and the Lancer gets much better gas mileage. And I'm not putting as many miles on the Supra.

Well my wife was a little skeptical about driving my Supra, she didn't know if she'd like it. Now... I can't get her out of the damn thing! She comes home, and it starts... "Honey, I pulled out in front of this guy this morning, and I totally fishtailed!" Ok, my wife isn't like other girls... she's a HP freak as well. But she's been driving a gutless POS... er I mean, Lancer now for a couple of years. So, now I have a problem. She doesn't want to give my car back to me:)

I trust my wife to drive that car, she is a good driver... but now I'm thinking I just screwed up. Now I'll have to get her a fast car if I ever want my Supra back:)

So here's the topic for this thread, who has let their girl/guy drive their car, and what types of things have happened?

I guess I can start out with a story of an Ex.

I used to have a Dodge Dakota R/T, had some work done to the intake, full exhaust, and a computer chip. It was moderately fast. I think I got into the mid 14s pretty easy with it.

I had a girlfriend at the time who thought she was just the best driver, but she just couldn't drive worth shit. I really didn't want her to drive that truck because I'd seen the way she handled her Celica GT. But I finally gave in one day, and let her drive it. The first thing she does is just roast off the rear tires pulling out of her parents driveway. Pitches it sideways, and almost does a 90 right in the middle of the road.

After that she was a bit more cautious of the throttle, but my problems weren't over. We stopped at a red light, and there was this kid with a Nissan 200sx, all pimped out. He reved up at us, but I said "Don't even...". Well that didn't work, my dumbass girlfriend at the time punched it, turning the rubber into blue smoke. We did ok for a little while, until we started to fishtail. She over corrected and then let off the throttle... and we went for a spin, going into the oncoming lanes backward. She did the whole panic 2 legged stomp on both the gas and the break, and my truck was filling the entire road with smoke.

I reached over and popped the selector to "N", and then turned the key off as the engine bounced off the limiter. She was just staring straight forward, stiff armed, stiff legged, and not moving. To make matters worse, red and blue slashing lights were now bouncing around the blue smoke covering the entire area.

We didn't hit anyone, and I still don't know how we did that. We were let off with a warning, I guess the officer knew what I was going through as I explained what just happened. My ex was still crying and a complete mess. What did I ever see in her? Oh... maybe it was her boobs:naughty:

I driven Parvin's MKII before. I could do it before he had the rebuild of EVERYTHING. I'm afraid to go near it now.

I've driven Mike's Hardtop MKIV, but it's still NA. :p

I don't mind guys driving the Spyder if I trust them and I know they're not going to be asshats with it.

I taught my girlfriend (now fiancee) to drive a stick in my Supra. Then I gave her the Supra. She loves manuals now and the Supra. She wants an Elise some day so I don't think I'll have to worry too much about her borrowing my Supra when I finally get a nice one.

^^^^ I've driven Parvin's MKII too, it's a handful at low boost! And I've
driven it on high boost too... Yikes.

I let my G/F drive my MKII, just to prove that anyone could. Now she hadn't
drivn a stick in 5 YEARS. My back was messed up and I couldn't drive and we
needed to go to the store. She gets in, bumps the key, starts it right up, waits
for the car to warm up, then gently eases out onto the road and drives it there
and back with no problems whatsoever. Granted she didn't go above 1/2
throttle, but, she didn't have any problems. And her only remark was DAMN
this car is easy to drive.

i let my girlfriend drive the supra anytime she wants, as long as i dont want it. Shes a very good driver, and a even better driver in the supra, becasue she knows if she fucks up my car, that would be then end of her, for little while atleast. Almost every time she drives it somewhere, she comes back with a story " some punk kid in a lowered mustang tried to race me, so i blew him a kiss and handed his ass to him" Aparantly guys like good looking girls in good looking cars, and they cant beleve that she actually beats them

no one drives my car, unless there is an emergency or it needs to be mooved 10 feet in the driveway while i am out of town ( i wander around alberta alot lately.)

its not just that i am paranoid about other people touching it, its just that i dont trust anyone...::moebaker::

well its at my father's house in calgary right now and i am in edmonton. he keeps talking about how he wants to take it for a spin to try it. Plain and simple, he fails at driving, and thats in a slow 4runner with auto tans. He wants to hop in the RHD 5 speed TT-R and go rip around calgary...

uhm i dont think so. ill be down in a day or two to rescue it!

the way my gf tears around in the scion makes me very nervous to let her drive the supra or infiniti. she drives the G once and a while, but hasn't driven the supra in a few years, and at the time it was pretty much stock.

she just drives so aggressive in the tc and floors it through left turns in intersections and such, if she tried it in the supra on a wet day it'll spin out.

i try to explain to her she drives too aggressive, but she doesn't listen. she thinks she's a great driver because she's "a girl who can drives stick shift". but she curbed 2 wheels on the scion in the first month, while my inifiniti doesn't have a scratch on it in over a year. she can't even reverse out of my driveway, parallel park, or reverse the car a few feet down the road.

oh, and another time she hit a truck trying to park her 83 accord at McDonalds. just slammed into it's rear bumper. luckily it was an old beat to hell truck and when i found the owner inside he said not to worry about it.

but she's still better than my ex who crashed her 318ti 5 times in the year we dated.
