WHo Knows camcorders?

Welp last year I bought a camera outta a pawn shop for 70$ Its a decent flip out screen sony camera uses HI-8 Tapes... But cant really find any capture card for it so I can get my vids on the computer...

So im thinking of getting a new cam under the 300$ price range thats able to hook to my computer and be able to edit my vids.. Im having a hard time fidning 1... the closes ive found to what im looking for is this cam

It has a USB connection but it doesnt say anything about hooking to the computer to edit vids and stuff it jsut says for webcam use... so I dono if it will do it..

Any info from the non slow people that know about camcorders?

that camera will work. the way you transfer video from a mini-dv tape to a computer is through a firewire (ieee 1394) connection. youll need a special card in your PC if you dotn already have a firewire port... and if your computer isnt amazingly cutting edge youll have a bitch of a time editing video, as uncompressed video takes up gigabytes upon gigabytes at the resolution you're working with.

if u dont want to shell out big money for a computer to do video editing get a apple g4 atleast 400mhz. they were pretty much made for video/picture/music editing. right now im making a a vid with my system of my daughters life. oh plus buy the latest version of os x either 10.3 or 10.4.

well the computer im on is 3.2 gig so im not worried about the room or anything its more of having to install a card and all of that.. I emailed sony directly from my cam and they said need a capture card for my current camera but I dont know where to get 1 for it and I cant find in search, so I dono might have to buy a new cam.
