By damper, I'm talking about a little strut that mounts on the strut tower and bolts to the motor to stop it from moving. The only one I've found so far is for the 2J and is made by Weapon R.

Who has an engine damper on their 1J?

I know I can feel my motor moving every time I shift while boosting. They help save your motor mounts and also help put the power to the ground.

Don't bother with the damper, just run solid motor mounts.honestabe said:

The 1j runs so smooth I have solid mounts and it doesn't vibrate at all even with the car being gutted..
MK4 mounts will help with reducing engine torquing.
I had a set in my blue car. I have normal mounts in my black car and I notice they let the engine move alot more. It's no surprise they get ripped apart.

Pre 89.5 mounts here, no vibrations or such. Apparently Weapon R is interested in fitting one to a 1jz MKIII. Hopefully one will be made at a decent price, I wouldn't mind one. Don't want my upcoming turbo upgrade hitting the shock tower now.
