White can be oil.. It can also be coolant.. I would suggest you pressure test your cooling system. If you are looking coolant into the combustion chamber you will get worse gas mileage because your compression will not be as high, and your motor will not perform as it should.

Is there any noticeable change in power over the weeks or months?

Nothing really noticeable. My ride usually sits for about 3-4 days out of the week,but when I start it up,i'll get some white smoke out of the pipe.
It will clear up,and run fine.I associated the smoke as oil creeping past the valve stem seals and getting into the combustion chambers.
One thing I noticed is that after I return to the car after a spirited run,it will start and run,but sort of stumble on idle.Romp on the throttle once or twice and it'll clear up and return to a normal idle.
