I posted this on SF, but some of you tend to stay on SM a lot more. Took some pix of my car, it's been a while since it was running. Finally took my first good photo session of my car. All comments welcome!

Thank you.

Nice shots. Here are some tips for the next time you go out shooting at night.

1. Get a tripod, the pictures will come out MUCH clearer, even if your just using a point and shoot camera
2. If your camera has a manual mode, use a narrow aperature and a long exposure. With a tripod this is possible.
3. Make sure to set your white balance for the type of lighting you are shooting in, take a few test shots to find what works best.

:)

I hope you don't mind....

Now it's possible to set your camera up to have the image come off the camera like the after picture.. just takes a little bit of fine tuning...

Very nice car. Great pictures and I love the cleaned up version better as well.

I don't remember seeing that car at the Chicago meet.

OOOOPS, I see you don't live in Chi town.

Wow!! you removed the orange filter... JK.. Nice job on the clean up..

.... just showing him with a little tweaking his images can come out quite nicely. Took a couple seconds in photoshop, but that can add up, it's much easier to set the white balance correctly while shooting to avoid having to adjust it when you want to display your pictures.

Best way to shoot is in raw format, that way the colour balance you shot in doesn't really matter, since you still have full control of it when you import the images, without any loss to the image.

Oh, and I used a blue cooling filter on the image and sharpened it abit, I also adjusted the levels slightly.. SO THERE! haha

And the image I cleaned up is a very nicely composed image. With a bit of touching up it looks like a shot from sport compact car or something!

I was there late in the day for the show and shine day, but thats about it. Car is still in Chi-town getting some work done, but will be sent to Florida in about a month.

Thank you for the fine tuning. You should get my original so that it will be in higher-res.

Thank you for all the nice comments people. It has came a long way, and still has a long way too go. Its tough making a 18 year old car look it's best sometimes, but I'm glad the hard part is over.
