Alright guys. I am back in the game. I just picked up a '89 Supra turbo. has 130,xxx on it.

My issues are these.

When I drive and get t about 30 MPH to around 55 I hear a whining is the rear. I think it's the differential, because when i put it into gear ( Auto Trans ) it clunks, and also once in awhile turning it will.

After I start the car and drive I will let it sit from anywhere from10 minutes to one hour. Sometimes it takes several try's to start it after it's warm once in a while when its cold.

I have had many stock Supra. This one doesn't seem to have as much power as the other. I am wodnering if the turbo is going bad, I can't really here it that well like I should be able to, and also the motor doesn't sound like the rest of my 7m-'s. It runs strong just not what I am use to I guess.

Any input would be great!

Change the oil in the rear diff. It's usually in pretty sad shape.

The starting problem sounds like heat soak. There are many things on the Supra that are supposed to help with heat soak - like the FP VSV, coolant temp sensor, etc.

Have you checked for codes yet?

I am doing that right now!

it will throw a code.

I am taking the motor out this weekend, or next and putting all new gaskets on it, and also cleaning the motor to death!

First Ill do a compression test though.

This is my daily driver so time is essential.
