hey, been looking for some supra's for a while and i need some opinions. specifically MKIII
Found 2

one of them has rust spots and need bodywork (minor like dents, scratches)
Has Turbo, 5spd, hardtop.
hes selling it for $1000

Other one has no rust, but needs some minor body work (signals falling molding etc)
Has turbo, 5spd and hes selling for $2500 (yellow body)

either ways i will be doing a paint job for any supra i buy unless its freshly painted. i was thinking is it hard to remove rust and paint it after? (iv searched but not alot of info's (hatch rust, fenders) but not like major rust.

Need opinions.

Thanks, for reading this :icon_bigg

Don't be instantly put off by the first one just because it's showing signs of rust. There is a possibility that it looks worse than it really is.

If the rust is just confined to the panels then the car could be savable.

I say Go check it out and pull it apart. by looking for rust on the chassis, if you see the slightest hint of the stuff, walk away. If it's solid where it counts, start pricing up replacement panels and go from there :).

Yea, screw that. Go for the yellow one. Try to talk him down the price though.

Why don't you just up your price range a bit, then you can buy a nicer car that you don't have to worry about whether or not it makes the drive home.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but it happens all the time.
People buy a Supra for really cheap because it's "a good deal".
They get it home and realize the headache they just parked in the garage.
They spend the next 6 months pissed off that the car never runs.
Rinse.
Repeat.

This all depends on how good you are with spanners and wether or not you like working on your own car. I can't resist a car other people have given up on. I have driven cars for another 30,000 miles that people were going to scrap.
