i had a completely busted passenger side motor mount so i got a new one to replace it. im changing it and the bolt will slide through the mount on the block, but it will not sit flush (w/ the pin in the hole) with the block mount.

i have an 88 chassis
jdm engine, but no idea what year it is

i also looked at the drivers side mount and the bolt isnt sitting even close to straight in that block mount. so what do i have wrong the block mounts or do i need to get round mounts?

if confused or need and questions answers let me know!

Im pretty sure that the 89+ supras have the round mounts because I put a JDM motor in my 87 supra and it had only one round mount on the JDM motor and the orginal motormounts in my 87 were square and those were the ones I bolted up to the new motor. Once I put my 87 mounts on the JDM motor it dropped in and lined up perfect. So stay with the square motormounts and you should be ok.

Plus the 86.5-88 are actually stiffer than stock +89 mounts. Probably the next best thing to custom fabbed poly mounts (in the works for me) or solid +89 mounts (new cross member required).

yea i plan on sticking with the stock mounts, but what about the mounts that attach to the block. there are differences in those as well right? the ones on my block right now i would describe as a mount, not really a bracket (which I've been hearing people call the 89+ mounts)

i printed the picture off cygnus and it shows square mounts w/ the bracket mounts. do you think if i switch over to those brackets, i should be okay.
