Well i bought an ecu and harness for my 87 5speed turbo but they dont match up. i bought the car without those parts so i dont have the originals. What is the eaiest way to tell which one goes to the car?

your car is an '87. the harness plugs should be yellow. if the connectors on the ECU aren't yellow, you got ripped because that's an 89.5+ harness. (it would be gray, and no clip for the HAC sensor, as it was internal on late models)
your harness should have yellow connectors, as should your ECU. look at the under-dash wiring, it's all yellow connectors. the engine harness/ECU has to match that.
