Well my new boost controller from Turbosmart has an RPM input feature and I am trying to figure out how to hook it up. The directions state "The RPM input can accept a square wave signal between 3.5 and 12V."

I did some searching and only thing I found was that IGT may be the signal I am looking for. I am not really sure what IG - outputs. Searching also brought results saying some kind of signal converter was needed, I just really don't know. I don't want to go testing things out without knowing for sure because I don't want to damage anything (don't have a scope to test with either). Thanks for the help!

After some more diligent searching... Figured I would post in case anyone else is looking. Looks like I will give IGT a shot

Would still like to know what kind of signal IG - outputs though.

The ECU calculates timing and then sends a signal called IGt (IGnition timing/trigger) to the igniter. This signal is 5 volts and turns on and off. Call it Wire #1. The wire carrying this signal is also called IGt

IGt is the signal to turn on the coil. It is an on/off signal. IGt is ignition trigger, or ignition timing, depending on which Toyota book you are looking at.
