Where to put Vac nipple for boost controller?

OK, My turbo doesn't have a Nipple on it for the wastegate like the CT does. Should I drill and tap one in the compressor housing or put in the lower IC pipe? My IC pipes are all aluminum so they are thinner than the comp housing. However if I do mess something up on the pipe I can just cut and add another pipe.

What are your guys suggestions?

Right now I have it T'd off the BOV vac hose. it works as well but don't get full boost until way late.

Thanks

That's how my old turbo used to be but the new one didn't come like with it. I did buy a tap and fitting, I guess I'll just do that. I better get it right the first time.

I tapped into the back of the 3000 pipe.... it is temporary unitil I install hard pipes.... but it seems to work fine. I used the nipple from the CT26 with a 1/8" NTP tap.....

^thats actually not a bad idea. it might just spool a little quicker because it will have to pressurize post ic before the wg gets the boost on the diaphragm.

It will actually boost slower, because there is pressure drop post IC. I had this on my HKS pipes and there was a nipple by the bend right before the big HKS 3000 pipe. Once I tapped it into the turbo last night and took it out for a drive it spooled faster than I've felt it in a long time.

Ok guys, have a problem, Now my car boosts way too much, it's much faster as in 25psi by 4k rpms. But that is way too much and I'm tuned for 19 on pump.

So I drilled and tapped the fitting in the turbo right above where the coupler goes on the housing. Hooked up my boost controller and went out and drove the car and it was way to boost happy, so I turned it down and drive. Kept doing the same.

Today I'm going to turn it all the way down and drive it and see what it does.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Make sure your boost controller is hooked up correctly. If you have the lines reversed with an electronic boost controller it will actually keep the wastegate closed and you'll boost extremely fast until you hopefully hit fuel cut.

Ya the boost controller is hooked up correctly, I made sure of that. I have a Turbo XS mbc that I've used for years, after my greddy profec blew up. When I had it hooked up before backwards all it does it let it run on straight wastegate psi which is about 12psi.

Now when I was taking everything apart and putting my new IC and piping on I did tighten up the wastegate, because with my old setup I couldn't get past 20 psi no matter what I did.

I think what I'm going to do is just turn the mbc all the way down and see how much boost I have then start from there and turn it up.

^ Or omit the MBC completely for the sanity check.... You never know when a part is going to fail... Also make sure the connection to the WG did not come off while jacking with it...

Ok guys, it's all figured out and running really good!! I'll be taking it out tomorrow night for some fun with the local domestic guys and see if any of them have the privilege of seeing my GOT YOU plate.

Basically what happened is when I put on my new IC set up I took off the turbo and tightened up the waste gate. I did this because I couldn't get over 20 psi. I later found out why, it was because of where my boost controller was hooked up. It was way to far from the turbo. Any ways, I turned the boost all the way down (running on wastegate alone) and I reached 15psi, so I steadily turned it up to 19psi, what I'm tuned at for 93 and it's running great and spooling up faster than ever.

I can't keep from spinning in 2nd and 3rd gear at higher rpms now with the new vac port and new IC setup.

Thanks for all the help guys.
