hey i just bought a rx7 oil cooler (2nd gen) and was wondering where is the best place to install them. I know a few of you guys are running them. Would it fit under the bumper right beneath the intercooler? reason why i'm asking is cause i just bought it and awaiting shipment but i wanna get it in this weekend. for those of you that don't know what they look like they look like this

i hear the dimensions are 23x4x2 i believe.. btw i have the stock IC

also i did a search and found one person that cut out his center support and made a custom bracket... but can it be fit under the stock IC?

here is what i am doing. i am gonna tilt my intercooler mounting so it sits more aligned with the pre89 bumper. After that, i am gonna run the cooler behind the intercooler, but slightly lower. just enough so it can get some drag and put in remainder air up to the top. i measured it out and im almost positive it will clear my engine undercover, but i won't know until i am there mounting everything. I was also thinking of cutting that plate thing in front of the radiator but behind the intercooler and mounting it in there. Yet again i will have to see when i start putting shit back in.

I just picked up a FC RX7 cooler yesterday. It does indeed have a built in thermostat, which is nice. What kind of lines and fittings are you guys going to use with it? I was thinking of hooking it up with the summit filter relocation kit, some extra hose, and socketless -8AN to metric fittings on the cooler. Is the thread 18x1.5mm? Also, would it be bad to route to the cooler before the oil filter in case any debris decides to come off inside the cooler? I know it should be cleaned first but they probably can't get absolutely everything out. As for mounting, I have no AC condenser any more so hopefully I can work it in there somewhere.

Yeah I figured that out and deleted my post within 2 minutes. Haha, took quick for me. I'll leave the explaning to someone who understands the thermostat better than I.
