I just purchased a set of Ruff Racing 279 Wheels and they came with lug studs, not lug nuts. The holes are not large enough for the factory lug nuts so im assuming im going to have to use "tuner" lug nuts. I looked on ebay an the ones on there seem to have a rather cheap quality. Does anyone have any experience purchasing any off ebay? Iv saw a few other people on here with the same rims, what lug nuts are you using?

T1R make some really nice titanium ones. a real bargin at $510 for a set of 20.

i use muteki lugs on mine. they are small, lightweight, and 1008 steel. you can pick up a set from ebay for ~$35

Ian, can you elaborate?

I just spent $130 on forged AL lugs that are significantly lighter that the steel ones.

My friend just got nuts that I think are Magnesium, made by Rays, they're lighter than plastic. around $150 I believe haha.

yep, those are the same ones i used. even tho they are steel, they are very light weight. the whole pack of 20 was about the same weight as one of our stock peterbuilt lug nuts.

the reason i kept away from alum was they are more prone to stripping threads and galling.

Don't get the ones that are open ended. The wheel studs rust up & run down then stain the wheels. Ask me how I know LoL. I forseen the problem so I cleaned my wheel studs off real well & clear coated them. That still didn't help. I guess after I tightened the lug nuts down it removed the clear coat off the threads. Cpl good rains & I had rusty water bleading from the tips. I got some like these & it cured the problem.
